What is an emu thinking?

Ran at the army once and won. Has not needed to mention it since.

The Emu War of 1932 was real. Soldiers with machine guns were sent to cull emus damaging crops in Western Australia, the birds scattered into small fast groups, and the operation was withdrawn having achieved very little.

They were hard to hit for a reason. An emu runs at around 50 km/h, can change direction at speed, and takes a great deal of stopping - which is what the official reports at the time effectively concluded.
