Terms

Terms of Service

Last updated 3 August 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Hart & Heim Pty Ltd (ABN 23 123 508 663) for using Peeka. By using the app, you agree to them. Questions? Email hello@peeka.pet.

What Peeka is

Peeka looks at a photo of an animal and writes a short, first-person “reading” in that animal’s voice. It’s for entertainment. The readings are an AI’s playful interpretation of what’s visible in the photo — they are not statements of fact about an animal’s actual thoughts, and they are not veterinary, medical, or behavioural advice. If you’re worried about an animal’s health, see a vet.

Accounts

The free tier needs no account. Paid plans require signing in with Google. You’re responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure.

Subscriptions, packs, billing and cancellation

  • Plans and prices. Peeka Plus and Peeka Pro are available monthly or yearly, priced in Australian dollars (AUD). Current prices are shown in the app.
  • Daily allowances. Every plan, free and paid, includes a set number of photo reads (“peeks”) per day; the current allowance for each plan is shown alongside its price in the app. Allowances reset daily and unused peeks don’t carry over. Peeks you’ve bought in a pack are separate and do carry over — see below.
  • What uses a peek. A peek is used when Peeka reads your photo — not only when you like the answer. If the reading finds no animal (including when the photo is too dark, too far away, or too blurry to be sure), or if the reading comes back unusable, that peek is still used, because the work has already been done. The exception is when the reading service is unavailable and your photo is never actually read — you get that peek back automatically, and you’ll see a message telling you so.
  • Peek packs. You can also buy peeks outright rather than subscribe. A pack is a one-off purchase, not a subscription: nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel. Bought peeks don’t expire, and they’re only used once that day’s included allowance runs out — so buying a pack never costs you peeks you already had. Packs need a free account, because the balance has to belong to someone. If you delete your account, any unused peeks go with it.
  • Payment and renewal. Payments are handled by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
  • Cancelling. You can cancel anytime from “Manage subscription.” Your paid features stay active until the end of the period you already paid for, then your account gracefully returns to the free tier — nothing is deleted, though pets beyond the free limit become view-only.
  • Refunds. Changed your mind? Email hello@peeka.pet within 7 days of a charge and we’ll refund it — refunding a charge in full also ends the subscription there and then, so your account goes back to the free tier rather than running out the period you were refunded for. After that we don’t refund change of mind — cancelling stops future renewals but doesn’t by itself refund a period already paid for, and there’s no refund button in the app. The same 7 days apply to a peek pack, with one difference worth stating plainly: refunding a pack in full takes back any peeks from it you haven’t used yet, and peeks you’ve already used aren’t clawed back or charged for — your balance simply can’t go below zero. Separately, and with no time limit: if Peeka is faulty or isn’t what we described, you’re entitled to a remedy under the Australian Consumer Law, below — the 7 days above don’t limit that.
  • Price changes. We may change prices in future; changes won’t affect a billing period you’ve already paid for, and we’ll give notice before a renewal at a new price.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where we are permitted to limit our liability, we do; where we are not, the Australian Consumer Law prevails.

Acceptable use

When using Peeka, you agree not to:

  • break the law or upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing content;
  • attempt to bypass usage limits, security, or authentication;
  • reverse-engineer, resell, or commercially exploit the app without our permission;
  • overload or disrupt the service or the systems behind it.

Your photos and content

Your photos are yours. To provide the service, you grant us and our processing provider a limited licence to process a photo you submit for the sole purpose of generating your reading and returning it to you. We don’t claim ownership of your photos and don’t store them on our servers.

Our intellectual property

Peeka, its name, design, and software are owned by Hart & Heim Pty Ltd. These terms don’t give you any rights in them beyond using the app as intended.

Availability and disclaimers

We work to keep Peeka available and accurate, but to the extent permitted by law (and subject to your Australian Consumer Law rights), the app is provided “as is.” AI-generated readings may be inaccurate, whimsical, or unexpected, and we’re not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app.

Ending access

You can stop using Peeka at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly breached.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and the courts of that state (and the Commonwealth) have jurisdiction.
