What is a bison thinking?
Has the right of way. Has always had the right of way.
A bull bison weighs up to a tonne, runs at 55 km/h, and can turn faster than it has any right to. In Yellowstone they injure more visitors than bears do, almost always because somebody got close for a photograph.
They also predate the road by a long way. Tens of millions once moved across the continent, and the herds you can see today came back from a few hundred animals at the end of the 19th century.
