What is a moose thinking?
Standing in the middle of the road. This is, technically, the road’s fault.
Moose use roads because they are easier walking than deep snow or dense bush, and roadside salt from winter gritting is a genuine draw. The road was put through the route, not the other way round.
They are also dangerously hard to see at night. A moose stands tall enough that headlights pass under the body, lighting the legs and leaving the mass above them dark until it is very close.
