What is a lion thinking?

Lions rest for around twenty hours a day. Hunting is short, expensive and often unsuccessful, so conserving energy between attempts is the strategy rather than the absence of one.

The lionesses do most of the hunting, but the male's work is territory. A pride's range has to be held against other males, and losing that fight usually costs the cubs their lives.
