Delete your Peeka account
Peeka is made by Hart & Heim Pty Ltd (ABN 23 123 508 663). You can ask us to delete your Peeka account and the data attached to it at any time, and you don’t have to give a reason.
How to ask
Email hello@peeka.pet from the address you sign in with, with “Delete my account” as the subject. Sending it from your own sign-in address is how we confirm the request is really yours — if you email from a different address we’ll write back and ask you to confirm from the one on the account.
We reply within a couple of days, and the deletion itself is done within 30 days of us confirming it. You don’t need to do anything else once you’ve asked.
First, if you subscribe
Deleting your account does not cancel a paid plan on its own, so cancel it first or you may keep being billed for an account that no longer exists. Where you do that depends on how you subscribed:
- Through the website — open the account sheet in Peeka and choose “Manage subscription”. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve already paid for.
- Through Google Play — open the Play Store app, then Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Peeka → Cancel. Peeka cannot cancel a Play subscription on your behalf; Google handles that one.
Not sure which you have? The account sheet says “through Google Play” next to your plan if it’s billed by Google. If you’d rather we checked, ask in the same email and we’ll tell you before deleting anything.
What gets deleted
Everything we hold that is tied to your account:
- your sign-in — the Google account link, your email address, and your session,
- your plan record, including its subscription and customer references,
- your peek balance and the record of any packs you were granted. Unused peeks are not refundable and go with the account, so spend them first if you want them,
- your daily peek counts, and any ratings or naming records held against your account.
Photos are not in that list because we never had them. A photo is sent for a single reading and is never written to disk or to a database — there is no library of your pictures on our side to delete.
What we keep, and why
- Records of payments. Australian tax and company law requires us to keep records of money received for five years. These are financial records — what was paid and when — and they are kept apart from your account rather than as part of it.
- Anything saved on your own device. Your pets, your history and your saved readings are stored in your phone or browser, not on our servers, so deleting your account doesn’t remove them. Clear the site data for peeka.pet, or delete the app, and they’re gone.
If you only want some data removed
You don’t have to delete the whole account. Email the same address and say what you want removed — your peek history, your ratings, your pets — and we’ll do that instead and leave you signed in.
More detail on what we collect is in our Privacy Policy, and the terms around billing and refunds are in our Terms of Service. Anything unclear — just ask at hello@peeka.pet.
